Space Opera - Atrium
The atrium to my ongoing Space Opera project, this space explores ideas of interactive composition through its use of light, transparency, negative space and layout. It also attempts to ground the fictional aspects of a theater in space with imagery which references the International Space Station, and other examples of modern space exploration.
From a game design perspective, this space is designed to introduce players to the ideas presented in the next room. Physically, it is a space we understand intuitively, while the open ceiling and rotating light source allude to the physical reality on the Space Opera itself.
